My wife, Renee, and I are both long time members of the Falkland Community Association as well as active members of the Falkland Seniors. I'm not that active with the Community Association but for the past 34 years, we've attended and contributed a dish to the Annual Bean Feed, visiting with both familiar and new community members. We've also attended many of the Coffee Houses in Falkland to listen to local musical talent, my son included. My volunteer activities elsewhere include lending my voice and experience to a committee of the North Okanagan Regional District on matters relating to regional agriculture and include matters of interest not just within that regional district but the CSRD and the TNRD.

Currently i am a board member of the Falkland Museum and Heritage Park. My current title is Director of Special Events. Over the years since moving to Falkland I have sat as President at the Falkland Museum and Heritage Park, Vice President of the Haunting of Falkland (and 1 of the founding 4 prior to moving to Falkland) I've also for the last 2 years made ice at the local ice rink with this year being my third. I definitely enjoy that, it’s pretty amazing seeing families enjoying the ice and it certainly gives them something to do in the winter !

I'm currently a member of the Falkland Women's Group called "Conversations". I have volunteered for this group with the community garage sale. I'm not a member of all of the community groups, but I do love to volunteer so I often participate in planned events. I have also volunteered for the Falkland Community Association several times. Working on the rummage sale and the Spirit of Falkland in the past. I volunteered to wash dishes for one of the Sunday Morner's rodeo breakfasts. I'm currently working with my mom at the museum as well, putting together a spooky spidery train car for their Halloween Carnival. And we've agreed to hand out candy there for younger kids on the 31st. I have had a tonne of fun getting to know people and participating in these events. Not technically a volunteer role, but I have participated in the local coffeehouse and had a really fantastic time. I was super inspired after I went to my first one in Silver Creek and have continued to visit for those events. In the past I've been involved in fundraising for a non-profit association through my kung fu school in Stony Plain Alberta. We annually donated funds to the Northern Lights Wildlife Wolf Centre in Golden, BC to raise awareness for the significance of apex predators and their role in a healthy eco system. One of my favourite projects was organizing a group to participate in Plastic Free July through my kung fu school. It taught me a lot!
